The LEED Building Operations and Maintenance (LEED O+M) program enables property owners to optimize building performance by implementing sustainable practices in areas such as energy usage, water consumption, waste management, and indoor air quality.

Moreover, LEED’s impact goes beyond environmental benefits. Studies have shown that LEED-certified buildings experience higher rental rates, increased property values, improved employee productivity levels due to enhanced indoor environments, and reduced operational costs over time.

Since its inception two decades ago, the influence of LEED has expanded globally. Projects from over 180 countries are currently participating in this transformative program—a testament to the growing recognition of sustainability as a core value across cultures. Additionally, governments at various levels have adopted LEED standards as part of their policies to drive sustainable development within their jurisdictions.

As we move towards a greener future where climate change mitigation is paramount, LEED continues to evolve alongside the changing landscape of sustainability challenges. New versions of the certification standards are regularly released by USGBC to reflect advancements in technology and industry best practices.

LEED has undeniably proven its worthiness as a catalyst for change within the built environment sector worldwide. By promoting sustainable design principles and encouraging innovation in construction practices on a global scale, it provides us with a roadmap towards achieving our shared goal: creating a more sustainable world for generations to come.
