4. Compostable Cups: Traditional coffee cups lined with polyethylene (plastic) coating cannot be recycled easily due to the difficulty of separating the paper and plastic layers effectively. However, compostable cups made entirely from plant fibers offer a greener alternative that breaks down completely in commercial composting facilities.

5. Compostable Straws: Plastic straws have been under scrutiny due to their harmful effects on marine life and ecosystems. Switching to alternative options like paper straws may seem like an ideal choice; however, these also contribute significantly to deforestation when not sourced sustainably. Compostable straws made from renewable resources present an eco-friendly solution without compromising on functionality.
