Clean Green: DIY Natural Cleaning Products for a Sustainable Home

Are you looking for ways to live a more sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle? One way to reduce your environmental impact is by making your own natural cleaning products. Not only are they better for the planet, but they’re also safer for you and your family.

Here are some simple DIY cleaning recipes that you can make at home:

All-Purpose Cleaner:
Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Add a few drops of essential oil (such as lemon or lavender) for fragrance if desired. Use this mixture to clean surfaces like countertops, floors, and even windows.

Bathroom Cleaner:
Combine 1/2 cup baking soda with enough liquid soap (preferably castile soap) to make a paste. Add 10-15 drops of tea tree oil for its antibacterial properties. Apply the mixture to bathroom surfaces such as sinks, showers, and toilets, then scrub with a sponge or brush before rinsing thoroughly.

Glass Cleaner:
In a spray bottle, mix 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol with 1/4 cup white vinegar and 1 tablespoon cornstarch. Fill the rest of the bottle with water. Shake well before using on mirrors or windows.

Furniture Polish:
Combine 3 parts olive oil with 1 part lemon juice in a jar or bowl. Dip a soft cloth into the mixture and use it to polish wooden furniture.

These homemade cleaning products are not only environmentally friendly but also cost-effective compared to store-bought cleaners that often contain harmful chemicals that can negatively affect our health and wellbeing over time.

In addition to making your own cleaning products, consider reducing waste by using reusable cloths instead of disposable paper towels when cleaning up messes around the house.

By incorporating these simple changes into your daily routine, you can reduce waste production while still maintaining cleanliness in your home!
