The Passive House standard is based on a building’s energy performance and focuses on reducing a structure’s heating and cooling requirements by using high-quality insulation materials in walls, windows, roofs, etc. Buildings certified under this standard can maintain comfortable indoor temperatures without relying too much on mechanical systems.
